    It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    October 9th, 2009

    Happy October, Everyone!

    It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To kick it off, I am delighted to have the honour of offering the new 2010 Calendar of Hope on KnitPink.com! This calendar is purchased as an instant download for you to print at home or at your local copy center.

This year, the calendar includes 14 never-before-published dishcloth patterns! How exciting! As always, I will be donating all of the profits from this calendar to The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. So far, I’ve been able to send over $2000.00 to the Foundation from KnitPink.com. Thank you for helping the cause!

I encourage you to visit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation website to learn more about breast cancer and to see how you can help.

I’d also like to thank Cindy Moore and her team of amazing ladies once again for putting this calendar together.

Happy Breast Cancer Awareness month! Here’s to “Hope for the Cure, One Stitch at a Time”!

    Sincerely,

    Christina Dennis, Founder of KnitPink.com

    The perfect Christmas gift

    December 12th, 2008

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away! Need a quick Christmas gift idea? Why not purchase a downloadable pattern from our site, print it, and give it as a gift to your knitting friends? When you purchase a downloadable pattern, you’ll recieve a link to download it instantly. No malls, no hassles, no rushing! Besides, your friend will appreciate the fact that you’ve donated money to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation on their behalf.

Another great gift idea: purchase and print the Calendar of Hope and give this as a gift! Or why not gift yourself with this one? As Brenda of Cast On suggests, pick a date on the calendar to write yourself a reminder to get a mammogram next year (thanks, Brenda!). What better gift to give yourself or a loved one this year?

    Merry Christmas from KnitPink.com!

    Christina Marie Dennis, Founder

    Thanks for a successful October!

    November 13th, 2008

I would like to extend a big “thank you” to all of the pattern donors as well as customers of KnitPink.com. For the month of October, breast cancer awareness month, I was able to donate $1050.00 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! That is a substantial amount, and I could not have done it without your generous support! I would like to especially thank Cindy Moore and the rest of the ladies behind the “Calendar of Hope” digital download that was donated this month. It has been a great seller, and has helped raise the majority of this month’s donation.

Let’s keep it up and continue to support breast cancer research through the sale of items on KnitPink.com!

    Sincerely,

    Christina Marie Dennis

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    October 6th, 2008

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Knit Pink would like to encourage you to take some time educating yourself on breast cancer this month. You’ll find some great information on the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation website as well as the Canadian Cancer Society website.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Knit Pink will donate every single penny earned from knitpink.com for the month of October to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. We will not subtract our operating expenses from our donation this month. Please consider purchasing some patterns from our website to start your Christmas gift knitting! Or why not purchase some unique knitting needles for the knitter in your life?

Here’s a fun way to support breast cancer awareness this month: send a Boob-a-gram! “A Boob-a-Gram is an e-mailable message that you can send out to an important woman in your life (or better yet, to all of the important women in your life). It’s a lighthearted way to remind her about the importance of breast screening and the early detection of breast cancer.” (Canadian Cancer website) Do it now!

Hand Dyed Pink Yarn by Biscotte & Cie

    August 11th, 2008

Knit Pink would like to recommend some new hand-dyed yarn by Biscotte & Cie… perfect for projects from the Knit Pink site! Biscotte & Cie will be donating $5 from each skein purchased to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Here’s what Louise of Biscotte & Cie had to say:

“Hi, I am Louise and I have started to hand dye yarn a year ago and open a Etsy shop named “Biscotte & Cie”. In 2005, I have discovered that I was carrying the BRCA2 gene mutation (Breast cancer and ovarian high level risk). I made the very hard decision to have a mastectomy in February 2007. I am very concerned about the Breast Cancer cause and I hope that the research on Breast Cancer and BRCA mutation will make this easier for my kids (2 girls and 2 boys) by the time they grow up to become adults. Thank you for donating to this cause and if you like to knit, Knit Pink !!!”

You can find this yarn on Biscotte & Cie’s Etsy site and don’t forget to have a look at their blog!
